Our Price Data & Methodology
Where prices come from
We read the public product page of each store (or the store’s official affiliate API where available) and record the selling price, MRP, offer price and stock status. Popular and watched products are checked every hour; every product at least once a day. Each product page shows when its price was last checked.
Amazon.in: Amazon product information comes only from Amazon’s official Product Advertising (Creators) API. Amazon prices are shown with the date and time they were retrieved and are never older than 24 hours. We do not keep price history, send price alerts or compare prices for Amazon products.
How we check accuracy
- A sudden large price change is only saved after a second reading confirms it.
- Prices older than 24 hours (Amazon) are hidden and replaced by “See price on store”.
- Visitors can report a different price; a report triggers an immediate re-check but is never published directly.
What the numbers mean
- Average price is time-weighted: a price that lasted 30 days counts 30 times more than a one-day flash price.
- Usual price is the 90-day median in-stock price.
- Lowest ever / 6-month low / 3-month low compare today’s price with those periods.
- Deal score (0–100) starts at 50 and moves 2 points for every 1% below or above the usual price, with bonuses for record lows and a penalty when the price was raised just before a “sale”.
- Verdict meter places today’s price within its 90-day range.
- “What if you wait?” looks back over the last year at days when the price was at today’s level and shows how often waiting got a lower price.
Limits
Prices can differ by location, seller, bank offer and account (for example Prime or Plus members). Estimates and verdicts are based on past prices and are not a guarantee of future prices. Always confirm the final price on the store.
